Parting to SIX SEM students

Six semester Botany major students of Namrup College visited the department after completing their final examination of 2017. It was quite beautiful moment for us that we got the chance to arrest our opportunity once again to say something about their career and few advises about to preparation of future. It was a biggest team of our department and feel proud to be a teacher for such innocent learners in present days. We wishing all of them for their grant success in life and beautiful life also.

পদিনাৰ স্বাদ নোলোৱা মানুহৰ সংখ্যা হয়তো আঙুলিৰ মূৰত লিখিব পৰা যাব ৷ কিন্তু ইয়াৰ গুণাৱলীৰ সৈতে আমাৰ কিমানজন অৱগত তাত সন্দেহৰ অৱকাশ আছে ৷ গোটেই বিশ্বতে প্ৰাচীন কালৰ পৰা মানুহৰ খাদ্য তালিকাত স্থান পাই অহা পদিনাৰ বিশেষত্ব আজি আপোনালোকৰ আগত দাঙি ধৰিম ৷ মোৰ দৃঢ় বিশ্বাস পদিনাৰ বিষয়ে সেইখিনি কথা জনাৰ পিছত আপোনাৰ মনত এই বিধ সহজলব্ধ বনৌষধি শাকে বিশেষ সমাদৰ লাভ কৰিবলৈ সমৰ্থ হব ৷

পদিনাৰ ব'টানিকেল নাম হ'ল Mentha৷ গোত্ৰ (Family)Lamiaceae ৷ পদিনাৰ কমেও ২৫বিধ প্ৰজাতি আছে ৷ ব্যৱসায়িকভাবে বহুল প্ৰচাৰিত কেইটিমান প্ৰজাতি হ'ল-Mentha piperita, Mentha spicata, Mentha gracilis, Mentha arvensis আৰু Mentha suaveolens ৷ আমেৰিকা, অষ্ট্ৰেলিয়া ,ইউৰোপ,আফ্ৰিকা আৰু এচিয়া মহাদেশৰ অঞ্চলভেদে ভিন্ন ভিন্ন প্ৰজাতি দেখা যায় ৷ প্ৰজাতিভেদে পদিনাৰ পাত, ফুল, আৰু ঠাৰিৰ আকাৰ আৰু ৰঙৰ কিছু তাৰতম্য দেখা যায় ৷ পদিনা সাধাৰণতে জিকা মাটি আৰু আংশিক ছাঁ পৰা ঠাইত বেচিকৈ হয় ৷ কিন্তু এই বিধ বনৌষধি প্ৰকৃতিৰ ভালেখিনি তাৰতম্য সহ্য কৰিবলৈ সক্ষম ৷ কিছুমান প্ৰজাতিৰ বৃদ্ধি বেচ খৰতকীয়া ৷ আমাৰ দেশৰ উত্তৰ প্ৰদেশৰ ৰামপুৰ নামৰ ঠাইত থকা পদিনাৰ ফাৰ্মখনে বিশ্বজোৰা খ্যাতি আৰ্জিবলৈ সক্ষম হৈছে ৷ অন্ত:ৰাষ্ট্ৰীয় বজাৰৰ পৰা এই Mentha & Allied Products Private Limited নামৰ ফাৰ্মখনে বছৰি কোটি টকাৰ ওপৰৰ ধন আৰ্জন কৰি আহিছে ৷

পদিনা গছৰ বৰ্ণনা : -

এজোপা পদিনা ১০ৰ পৰা ১২০ চেন্টিমিটাৰ পৰ্য্যন্ত দীঘল হব পাৰে ৷ পাতৰ ৰঙ পাতলৰ পৰা ডাঠ সেউজীয়া আৰু গা গছৰ ৰঙ সেউজীয়া বা বেঙুনীয়া বৰণৰ হয় ৷ গছৰ পাতৰ পৰা এটা সুবাস ওলাই থাকে ৷ ইয়াৰ ফলত পদিনাৰ পৰা অপকাৰী কীট-পতংগ,পৰুৱা,পইতাচোৰা আতৰ হয় ৷ আনহাতে মৌ মাখিৰ দৰে উপকাৰী জীৱ কাষ চাপি আহে ৷ পদিনাত বগা, নীলা বা বেঙুনীয়া বৰণৰ ফুল ফুলে ৷ সময়ত ফল আৰু গুটিও হয় ৷ গুটিৰ পৰাও গছ হয় কিন্তু বেচি ভাগ লোকেই ডাল ৰুই পদিনাৰ খেতি কৰে ৷ এজোপা পদিনাৰ আয়ুস এবছৰৰ পৰা দুবছৰ ৷

এক টেবুল চামুচঅৰ্থাৎ ৩-২গ্ৰাম পদিনাত কেলৰি থাকে ২, প্ৰটিন ১০০মিলিগ্ৰাম, কাৰ্বোহাইড্ৰেট ৫০০মিলিগ্ৰাম, ডায়েটেৰী ফাইবাৰ ৩০০মিলিগ্ৰাম, পটেচিয়াম ১৮মিলিগ্ৰাম, চ'ডিয়াম ১মিলিগ্ৰাম ৷ আইৰণ, ভিটামিন-এ, ভিটামিন-চি, ভিটামিন-বি গোট পদিনাত থাকে ৷ পদিনাৰ পৰা ওলোৱা তেলত থাকে মেন্থল, মেন্থন, মেন্থাইন এচিটেট, লিমোনি, চিনোলি, বিটা পিনেনি আৰু বিটা কেৰিঅ'ফাইলিন ৷

পদিনাৰ পৰা কি কি উৎপাদন হয় ? 

পদিনাৰ তেল, পিপাৰমেন্ট, প্ৰসাধন সামগ্ৰী, সুগন্ধি দ্ৰব্য, টুথপেষ্ট,বিষনাষক বাম, জেলি,চৰবত,চুপ ,মৰ্টন,চকলেট, চুয়িংগাম ইত্যাদি ৷ আমেৰিকা আৰু জাপানত মদিৰাৰ লগত, গাল্ফত মাংসৰ ব্যঞ্জনৰ সৈতে পদিনা ব্যৱহৃত হয় ৷ ভিয়েটনাম,থাইলেণ্ড আদি দেশত পদিনাৰ চালাডৰ প্ৰচলন বেচি ৷ আমাৰ অসমীয়া লোকসকলে পদিনা ঘাইকৈ আম-নেমু বা থেকেৰাৰ সৈতে পিচি চাটনি কৰি ভাতৰ সৈতে খায় ৷ ৰোমত বিদ্যাৰ্থীসকলৰ মস্তিষ্কৰ উৎকৰ্ষ সাধনৰ বাবে পদিনা খাবলৈ পৰামৰ্শ দিয়া হয় ৷

পদিনাৰ উপকাৰিতা : -

আগৰ দিনত পেটৰ বিষ,বায়ুজনিত ৰোগ আৰু বুকুৰ বিষত বনৌষধি হিচাবে পদিনা সেৱন কৰিবলৈ দিয়া হৈছিল ৷ তাৰ পৰাই হয়তো আজিকালি ক'লাইটিচ আৰু ইৰিটেবল বাৱেল চিনড্ৰমত পদিনা খোৱা পৰামৰ্শ দিয়াৰ সুত্ৰপাত হ'ল ৷ নানান পৰীক্ষাগাৰত পদিনাৰ বিষহাৰক, এলাৰ্জি-বিনাশক, হজম শক্তিবৰ্ধক, ৰুচি বৃদ্ধিকাৰক গুণ প্ৰমাণিত হৈছে ৷ আজিকালি মেদবহুলতা কমাবলৈ,শৰীৰৰ ওজন হ্ৰাস কৰিবলৈ পদিনা সেৱন কৰিবলৈ বহু চিকিৎসকে পৰামৰ্শ দিয়ে ৷ পদিনাই পাক প্ৰণালীৰ হজম শক্তি বঢ়াই চৰ্বিক গলাই শক্তিলৈ ৰূপান্তৰিত কৰে ৷ এন্টিঅক্সিডেন্ট গুণযুক্ত হোৱা বাবে পদিনাই শৰীৰৰ ইমিউনিটি বঢ়ায় আৰু কৰ্কট ৰোগৰ পৰা সুৰক্ষা দিয়ে ৷ পদিনাই শাৰীৰিক-মানসিক অৱসাদ আতৰাই আৰু মানসিক চাপ কমোৱাত আমাক সহায় কৰে ৷ পদিনা হাঁপানি আৰু এলাৰ্জিক ৰাইনাইটিজ ৰোগৰ চিকিৎসাত সহায়ক ৷ ভিটামিন-এ থকাৰ বাবে পদিনা চকুৰ শক্তি বৃদ্ধিকাৰক ৷

আয়ুৰ্বেদিক চিকিৎসাৰ কেইটিমান বিধান পাঠকে প্ৰয়োগ কৰি চাব পাৰে : -

• পদিনাৰ ৰস মৌজোলৰ সৈতে মিহলাই খালে অনিদ্ৰা আতৰ হয় ৷

• দুচামুচ পদিনাৰ ৰস আধা কাপ কুহুমীয়া গৰমপানীৰ সৈতে মিহলাই খালে বাৰে বাৰে পিয়াহ লগা আতৰ হয় ৷

• পদিনাৰ চাহ নিমখীয়া কৰি খালে কাহ, মূৰৰ বিষ আৰু জ্বৰ আতৰ হয় ৷

• চকুৰ চৌদিশে হোৱা ক'লা দাগ আতৰাবলৈ হলে কিছুদিনলৈ দৈনিক আধা ঘন্টা সময় পদিনা পিচা প্ৰলেপ লগাওঁক ৷ পিছত সাবধানে ঠাণ্ডা পানীৰে ধুই দিয়ক ৷ চাব, চকুৰ ভিতৰলৈ পদিনা পিচা নাযায় যেন ৷

• খহু আৰু খুন্দা খাই হোৱা বিষত পদিনাৰ প্ৰলেপ উপযোগী ৷

• মাহেকীয়াৰ সময়ত হোৱা বিষ আৰু অনিয়মীয়া ঋতুস্ৰাৱৰ চিকিৎসাত উপযোগী ৷

• নাকৰ ৰক্তক্ষৰণ ৰোধ কৰিবলৈ পদিনাৰ ৰস ২৷৩ টোপাল দিলেই হয় ৷

• কাণৰ সংক্ৰমণত পদিনাৰ ৰস উপযোগী ৷

• পদিনাৰ প্ৰলেপ শালমনৰ চিকিৎসাত ফলপ্ৰসু ৷

• বৃশ্চিক বা আন কীট-পতংগই দংশন কৰিলে পদিনাৰ প্ৰলেপ দিলে উপশম হয় ৷

• আয়ুৰ্বেদিক চিকিৎসকে মেলেৰিয়াৰ চিকিৎসাত পদিনা আৰু তুলসীৰ পাতৰ সিদ্ধ মিশ্ৰণ ব্যৱহাৰ কৰে ৷

• হিষ্টেৰিয়াত দৈনিক ৪চামুচকৈ পদিনাৰ ৰস খাবলৈ দি চিকিৎসা কৰা হয় ৷

• দৈনিক দুচামুচকৈ পদিনাৰ ৰস সেৱন কৰিলে উচ্চৰক্ত চাপ নিয়ন্ত্ৰণত থাকে ৷

• মুখৰ ভিতৰত বা জিভাত ঘা হলে পদিনা পিচা লগালে উপকৃত হব ৷

• পদিনাৰ ৰস আধা পিয়লা পানীত মিহলাই দিনে ২৷৩বাৰ খোৱালে ওকালি আৰু বমিৰ উপশম ঘটে ৷

• পদিনা হ'ল মাতৃ দুগ্ধ বৃদ্ধিকাৰক ৷ স্তনাগ্ৰ ফাটিলে পদিনাৰ প্ৰলেপ লগালে উপশম হয় ৷

• পদিনাৰ ৰস,পিঁয়াজৰ ৰস আৰু নেমুৰ ৰস সম পৰিমানত মিহলাই খোৱালে গ্ৰহণী, ডায়েৰিয়াৰ প্ৰকোপ কমে ৷

• হিকটি আহিলে তাক ৰোধ কৰিবলৈ চেনিৰ সৈতে কেইখিলামান পদিনাৰ পাত চোবাওঁক ৷

• দাঁত আৰু দাঁতৰ আলু মজবুত কৰিবলৈ হলে দৈনিক কেইখিলামান পদিনাৰ পাত চোবাওঁক ৷

• মুখৰ দূৰ্গন্ধ আতৰ কৰিবলৈ হলে পদিনাৰ পাত উতলাই ঠাণ্ডা হবলৈ দিয়ক ৷ যেতিয়া পানী কুহুমীয়া গৰম হব সেই পানীৰে ভালদৰো কুলকুলি কৰক ৷ দিনে দুবাৰকৈ ৫৷৭দিন এনে কৰক ৷

• পুৰুষ আৰু মহিলা উভয়ৰে সন্তানহীনতাৰ আয়ুৰ্বদিক চিকিৎসাত পদিনাৰ ভূমিকা আছে বুলি জনা যায় ৷

• আকস্মিকভাবে সংজ্ঞা হেৰোৱা লোকক কেইখিলামান পদিনাৰ পাত মোহাৰি ঘ্ৰাণ লবলৈ দিলে চেতনা ঘূৰাই পায় ৷

Field Study on 27th March 2017

           Field study gives us wonderful experience and opportunity to talk with nature from esteem close. When we go to close contact with nature, its rejuvenate our mind and heart and refresh our inner feelings and beauty. When such field study program is become a part of our academic curriculum, surely its provide fruitfulness of our learning in an institute and gives immense pleasure from consistence boredom of academic contents. 

          In connection with such curriculum and academic interest, our Botany students were kept a field study tour on 19th March 2017 and they have selected venues which are the important and popular Biodiversity Reserve Forest, namely Joypur Reserve Forest and Dihing Patkai Wild Life Sanctuary located in the border site of Assam and Arunachal pradesh which is under the jurisdiction of Dibrugarh district of Assam. Departmental Teachers and Laboratory Assistant and other guest from different departments were also joined in the tour.

          The tour was quite fruitful and successful from the point of our their purposes and students would like to forwarded their gratitude to Dr. Jitu Buragohain, Principal, Namrup College for giving such opportunity for the students.. And they have given thanks to the teachers and others staff members who accompanied and inspiring them.

Category A: Admission based on online University Entrance Examinations

Programmes: (i) Integrated B.A.B.Ed. (Major in English), Integrated B.Sc.B.Ed. (Major in Chemistry/ Physics/ Mathematics), (ii) Integrated M. A. in English,Integrated M. Sc. in Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Bioscience and Bioinformatics, (iii)Integrated M. Com. (iv) MCA, (v) M. Category B: Admission based on All India Ranking (AIR) of  JEE (Main)

Programmes: B.Tech. in (i) Mechanical Engineering, (ii) Civil Engineering, (iii) Electronics and Communication Engineering, (iv)Electrical Engineering (v)Computer Science & Engineering, (vi) Food Engineering & Technology. Candidates will be selected for admission on the basis of performance in the JEE (Main) to be conducted by the CBSE on 2^nd April, 2017 (Pen and paper based) and 8th & 9^th April, 2017 (Computer based) (for details please visit JEE website: www.jeemain.nic.in).  Approximately 60% of the total seats will be filled up by the candidates of NE states. Candidates of NE states may apply against the seats reserved for the North East (NE) states for which the candidates will be required to produce Permanent Residence certificate (PRC) issued by the competent authority of any NE state. Counseling of the shortlisted candidates will be held at Tezpur University. Admission to the remaining seats will be made through the Central Counseling conducted by the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB). For admission through Central Counseling no application is required to be submitted.

Category C: Direct Admission: (i) Candidates from NE states securing any of the top 10 positions in the Higher Secondary Board/Council Examinations of NE State with an aggregate marks of 80% or more will be directly admitted to the Integrated M.Sc. (Physics/ Mathematics/Chemistry/ Bioscience and Bioinformatics), Integrated MA in English, Integrated B.Sc.B.Ed./B.A.B.Ed, Integrated M.Com programme. (ii) Candidates from NE states securing any of the top 5 positions in the Higher Secondary Board/Council Examinations of any NE state with an aggregate marks of 85% or more will be directly admitted to B. Tech. programme. Such candidates will apply in the prescribed application form along with their rank certificates after declaration of their results. Candidates passed out from CBSE will not be eligible for the direct admission. (iii) A certain number of candidates with valid GATE score will be admitted directly to the M.Tech. programme.

Category D: Ph. D. programme

Offering Departments: Business Administration, Chemical Sciences, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Cultural Studies, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Energy, Environmental Science, English and Foreign Languages, Education, Food Engineering & Technology, Hindi, Mathematical Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, Molecular Biology & Biotechnology, Mass Communication and Journalism, Physics and Sociology.  Candidates will be admitted on the basis of the performance in the online test and personal interview. The online University entrance examination will be conducted in designated examination centres; however, Personal Interview (PI) will be conducted in the respective Departments.  The merit list prepared based on the entrance examination conducted in Autumn Semester, 2017 will be valid for the admission in both Autumn Semester, 2017 and Spring Semester, 2018. For Spring Semester 2018 applications will be invited from the eligible candidates with valid UGC/CSIR NET-JRF only for Personal Interview.

Reservation and relaxation: As per Govt. of India rules.

Self Supported Scheme (SSS): Tezpur University has a provision for admission under SSS. The waitlisted candidates on merit basis will be eligible for the admission under SSS with additional fees.  The candidate admitted under SSS will not be upgraded to normal seat even if the normal seats fall vacant after closing the admission.
