Students of Botany students participated in National Science Day observation organised by SCDC, Physical Society and IIC of Namrup College on 28.02.2026.
Students were prepared poster on the theme of the science day 2026. They have prepared on great Indian Botanist Dr. Janaki Ammal who was the first woman Ph. D. awardee by USA from the background of Botany.
Faculty of Botany department of Namrup College visited Abhoypur village to observe some specific plant disease. In 2023, Government of Assam has recorded in Guinness World record by planting 3.5 lakh tree sampling.
Today, as per request request received from Forest Range Officer, Joypur range, Dr. Jayanta Sonowal, Dr. Urmika Phangchopi and Ms. Kakoli Baruah were visited spot. During visit, it was noted that some young plants are infected fungal disease.
Department of Botany of Namrup College has organised World Wetlands Day on 2nd February 2026.
