As part of Seva-hi-Samarpan: Seva Saptah (17-23 September 2025), commemorating the 75th birthday of Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, NSS unit, Namrup College in collaboration with Department of Botany, NCC & IQAC, organized a mega plantation drive. A total of 75 saplings provided by the forest department were planted in various places within the college campus. The program inaugurated by Dr. Durga Prasad Gogoi, Principal, Namrup College, witnessed enthusiastic participation and collaboration.
Apart from this green initiative, a unique Parthenium eradication mission 2.0 also started today to commemorate the Seva Saptah. The Department of Botany actively participated in this mission organized by IQAC, NSS and NCC units in collaboration with PNB, Namrup Branch; BVFC; APL; NTPS, Namrup; Municipal Board, Namrup; Namrup PS; CISF, BVFCL Unit, Namrup; Forest Beat Office, Namrup. This initiative is a part of Namrup College's community outreach program and localitywide campaign to eradicate the highly invasive species of Parthenium across wide and length of Namrup.
