Publication of Edited Book “BioNexus”

The Department of Botany, Namrup College successfully published an edited book titled “BioNexus” on 28th March 2026 during an IQAC meeting of the college.

The book comprises 11 selected chapters, contributed by a total of 27 authors, including academicians and researchers from diverse fields of life sciences. The publication reflects a collaborative academic effort aimed at promoting scientific research, knowledge dissemination, and interdisciplinary learning.

The book has been jointly edited by Dr. Urmika Phangchopi, Ms. Kakoli Baruah, and Dr. Jayanta Sonowal, who meticulously compiled and reviewed the contributions to ensure academic quality and relevance.

The formal release of the book was carried out by Dr. Durga Prasad Gogoi, Principal of Namrup College. In his address, he congratulated the Department of Botany for their commendable initiative in publishing the book. He highlighted that “BioNexus” would serve as a valuable resource for students, research scholars, and the teaching fraternity, and would contribute significantly to academic enrichment.

On behalf of the editorial team, Dr. Jayanta Sonowal delivered a brief speech outlining the background and journey of the book from conception to publication. He shared insights into the motivation behind the project, the collaborative efforts involved, and the challenges faced during the editorial process.

The publication of “BioNexus” marks an important academic milestone for the Department of Botany, reflecting its commitment to fostering research culture and scholarly excellence.

Morning Assembly Conducted by the Department of Botany

The students of the Department of Botany, Namrup College, successfully conducted the first day’s scheduled morning assembly activities on 26.03.2026 with great enthusiasm and discipline.

The programme was hosted by Mr. Ashok Urang, a student of 4th Semester, who conducted the session smoothly and confidently. The assembly commenced with a prayer, creating a peaceful and respectful atmosphere for the gathering.

Following the prayer, the programme continued with a series of engaging and informative activities, including a news update, quiz session, special talk, and other meaningful presentations by the students. These activities reflected the active participation, confidence, and coordination of the students of the department.

The assembly concluded with an inspiring address by Dr. Durga Prasad Gogoi, Principal of Namrup College, who delivered a valuable speech to the students present. In his speech, he encouraged the students and appreciated their participation and efforts in organizing the assembly programme in an orderly and commendable manner.
